Resumo:
Unaged and aged seeds (36, 48 and 72 hours) of soybeans cultivars named OC-3, 4 and 11, BR-16, 36, 37 and 38, were placed in Petri dishes lined with filter paper wetted with distelled water or mannitol solutions (Ψs of -0,3 and -0,6 MPa). The experiment was conducted in BOD germinator at 25oC. The results demonstrated that the seeds water uptake pattern can be described by a third degree regression, the radicle emergence was delayed and the germination decreased in function of the substratum water availability.
