Abstract

The methodology proposed by the Soil Conservation Service and the Bureau of Reclamation were analyzed in the design of inorganic envelope to be used in drainage tubes. It was verified that these methodologies favor more comprehensive limits for the diameters of materials that could be used as envelope. Thus, the mechanical conditions at the neighborhood of the drains could perform satisfactory levels of stability in the drain system and save money in the material gradation. Therefore, the use of these methodologies is vital when inorganic envelope projects are carrying on.
