Resumo:
The work discusses the teaching of Local History and the Cultural Heritage of
Marizópolis-PB. The general objective of the research is to identify the teaching of
Local History and Cultural Heritage in the city of Marizópolis-PB, using didactic-
pedagogical materials used by teachers. The interest of this investigation is associated
with the need to gather historical data on the teaching of Local History in the city of
Marizópolis, considering that there are not many teaching-pedagogical materials
available. Methodologically, the research was developed in a qualitative way,
concentrated on the teaching of history, and involved bibliographical study through
contact with already published materials. It stands out as historical research through
the investigation of documentary sources and oral sources on the Local History and
Cultural Heritage of Marizópolis-PB. Regarding methodological procedures, the
research was configured as empirical, based on a field study, collecting data through
observation and interviews with teachers at the school, using a technique used to
record historical data by sources oral speeches that tell “another story”. Theoretically,
the research was based on authors such as Prodanov et al. (2013), Bittencourt (2008);
Matos et al. (2011) and Magalhães (1998, apud Gatti Júnior, 2007), among others. It
was found, through this research, that the interviewed teachers used audiovisual
materials (films, internet, interviews, television, videos, slides), visual materials (texts,
books, handouts, symbols, posters, photographs, maps, coat of arms, maps) and
audios (songs, songs, hymns). Regarding curricular documents, it was observed that
they are not aimed at creating concrete materials; In relation to the schools' Political-
Pedagogical Project, the interviewed teachers do not have access to and are not part
of the construction and implementation of this document. However, it is considered that
this work allowed us to reflect on didactic-pedagogical materials aimed at teaching
local history and cultural heritage, so that the historical knowledge of the place
becomes concrete. In this sense, it is understood that history needs to be told by
community members to not be forgotten, just as heritage sites need to be preserved
to not be forgotten.
