Avaliação do sistema de irrigação por sulco da Fazenda do Alto em Campos dos Goytacazes-RJ.

Abstract

The present work was carried out on the Fazenda do Alto in Campos dos Goytacazes, located in the northern part of Rio de Janeiro State. The efficiency of the furrow irrigation system was analysed by quantifying the basics parameters of the soilwater relationship. Based on technical and economical considerations, alternation irrigation systems are suggested for improving irrigation management in sugarcane.The system efficiency was evaluated in eight blocks during three irrigations in each furrow. The results presented the following average values: application efficiency, 41.6%; potential application efficiency, 61.7%; distribution efficiency, 67.5%; runoff and percolation losses, 12.9 and 45.6%, respectively; and conduction efficiency, 53.3%; resulting in an overall system irrigation efficiency of 22.2%.
