Resumo:
Cities that act as regional health centers need Support Houses to accommodate people coming from other cities seeking medical treatment. The architecture of the Support House is the subject of this work. Its objective is to develop a preliminary architectural design for the Support House Irmãos Samaritanos da Misericórdia Social (ISMI) in Campina Grande, with an emphasis on humanizing the architecture. Its specific objectives are: To enhance the diversity of uses to be provided by the Support House; To favor thermal comfort conditions of the building and constructive rationality; To qualify aspects of reception, privacy and identity of spaces or environments. To this end, the research is based on the following methodological procedures: theoretical framework, field research and architectural proposal. As a result, it is found that architecture plays an essential role in promoting people's well-being, through environments carefully designed to meet functional and emotional needs.
