Abstract:
The present study was undertaken through May - July, utilizing four
lysimeters installed at “Fazenda do Glória”, property of Universidade Federal de
Uberlândia, Uberlândia,MG., with the objective of determining water consumption of a
lettuce (cultivar Carolina) crop. The crop coefficient (Kc) was determined through the
relationship between the crop evapotranspiration given by the lysimeter method and the
evapotranspiration found by the “class A” tank method. The crop coefficient obtained
ranged from 0.64 to 1.00 and the daily average water consumption was 3.35 mm.
