With the growing impacts of climate change and the accelerated energy consumption of buildings, there has been an increase in studies on energy efficiency. In brazilian public buildings, energy consumption per square meter has risen, with public universities accounting for 21% of electricity expenses. To assess energy efficiency, the Technical Regulation on the Quality of Energy Efficiency Levels for Commercial, Service, and Public Buildings (RTQ-C) was created in 2009. In 2018, Inmetro published the Inmetro Normative Instruction for the Energy Efficiency Level of Commercial, Service, and Public Buildings (INI-C), aiming to replace the RTQ-C. The objective of this work was to evaluate and classify the energy performance of the envelope of the lecture Bloco (CW) of the Architecture and Urbanism course at the Universidade Federal de Campina Grande, using the simplified method of INI-C. To apply the method, parameters were collected to be inserted into analysis metamodels. The result of applying the method to obtain energy performance revealed a 29% reduction in primary energy consumption, classifying the Bloco CW envelope as level A. To understand the result, the actual conditions of the building were compared with reference conditions equivalent to level D, showing a significant influence of the building's roof and shading elements on the classification obtained. As for the method used, it is a good analysis tool for artificially conditioned buildings, while for hybrid buildings, it is a very simplified method that does not analyze important elements of the building, such as cobogós. Thus, it is concluded that it is important to evaluate the energy performance of the building, seeking to understand the result for possible improvements in the building itself and in buildings with similar characteristics, to disseminate the study of energy efficiency in buildings.
