Determinação do fator de forma da curva de crescimento do sistema radicular da cultura de milho (Zea mays L.).

Abstract

With the purpose of determining the shape factor of irrigated maize root growth curve, an experiment was carried out in the experimental area of the Departament of Agriculture, University of São Paulo, Piracicaba, Brazil, from September 13, 1996 to January 15, 1997, using three cultivars. A sigmoidal model was used to represent the functional relationship beetween efective root depth and termic index; the shape factors of 0.942, 0.944 and 0.946 were estimated for CMS-54, CMS-36 and POOL-18 cultivars, respectively.
