Resumen:
Temperature average values registered with the sensors were similar to the ones
obtained with a reference thermometer with 0,1C of accuracy. When saturated sensors were
installed at 5 cm of depth inside an air dry silty clay loam, sensor response time regarding to Delta
T values was a little higher than 24 hours. Observed Delta T values, under lab and field conditions
had increased variability on the dry soil region in comparison with the wet soil region. Under field
conditions, for six irrigation treatments with Arracacha crop (Arracacia xanthorrhiza), there was
no statistical difference among Delta T averages obtained, at 10 cm depth, with the heat
dissipation sensor and the soil water tension averages from tensiometer transformed to Delta T.
