Abstract:
The objective of this study was to assess the behavior of cut-back
metodology at one half of the irrigation time, independent on the constraint advance time to
be the same as the opportunity time, but with the condition that advanced time to be less
than or equal the opportunity time, and to compare with other metodologies, like: a) Inflow
without cut-back based on the maximum efficiency. b) Cut-back according to metodology
presented by Walker and Skogerboe (1987). Water application efficiency for the proposed
methodology was higher than the one for continuous irrigation based on the maximum
efficiency. The methodology proposed by Walker & Skogerboe (1987) may give a wrong
application efficiency and a poor distribution uniformity.
