Resumo:
This paper presents an alternative method for the optimal design of water distribution system. To obtain the minimum cost in the design of a branching system, it was established a nonlinear programming model. This methodology takes into account the pipe diameters as decision variables. The objective function, as well as the model constraints, are described by nonlinear equations.
