Abstract:
The general aim of this work is to analyze the professional work of the Social Worker in Specialized Care for People with Disabilities in Sousa/PB. My interest in this subject arose from my experiences during my internship at the Specialized Rehabilitation Centre (CER-IV) in the municipality of Sousa-PB. The research aims to answer the following question: How do social workers work in institutions that promote health policies for people with disabilities? We opted for a methodology of a basic nature. To this end, we carried out field research with a qualitative, exploratory approach. We used a semi-structured questionnaire to collect the data and, based on the analysis of the participants' responses, the following results were found: it was observed that the configuration of the Care Network for People with Disabilities is not satisfactorily implemented in the Sousa-PB region. In addition, due to the high demand for care at the institution, the RPCD does not fully meet the demand for habilitation and rehabilitation services at CER IV. Thus, the work of the social worker at CER IV is particularized and faces challenges in working with a rehabilitation service that serves a large and vulnerable population.
