Resumo:
It was studied the effects of 5 soil tillage systems and 2 methods of corn cultural residue management, on the bean yield, and soil moisture retention. This research was conducted on a Dark-Red distrophical Latosol in area of the UFLA - MG. It was found that the prodution and yield components, did not undergo any effects of soil tillage systems and cultural residue management. The water storage in the soil, analysed in the layer of 0 to 40 cm over the crop cycle, also did not undergo any effect of soil tillage system and management of cultural residues. However, where cultural residues were managed by offset disk harrow, it was found that there was a trend of the soil to store less water. And for conservation tillage systems, together with excessive tillage, the trends were increased water storages.
