Resumo:
Twenty fine corn cultivars (seven simple hibrids - SH, six double hibrids-DH, eleven triple hibrids-TH and one variety-V) were evaluated, under irrigation, in a coaste tableland soil, in 1996, in Parnaiba, PI. The highest grain productivity (GP) and water use efficiency (WUE), 10,615 kg.ha-1 and 18.5 kg.ha-1.mm-1, respectively, were obtained by the triple hibrid P 3041. The lowest values were observed in the BR 106 variety, being 6,652 kg.ha-1 and 11.6 kg.ha-1.mm-1. In general, the genotyps performed following the series SH>TH>DH>V.
