Resumo:
In this research, 499 tests were conducted with concentric orifice type flow
meters in order to establish a comparison between the discharge coefficients for horizontal,
vertical upflow, and vertical downflow duct orientations. Besides these comparisons ,
variations in coefficient values for transport of water, vinasse “in natura”, and suspensions
of vinasse in powder form were also analysed at concentrations of 5.5% and 9.0%. Results
of this experimental study show that: a) there are no significant differences between the
coefficients for the three orientations; b) there is a slow decrease in the discharge
coefficients with the increase of vinasse concentration.
