Abstract:
The necessity of technology for small farmers associated to the lack of information on this area, justify this work, whose objective is to study a mathematical model that best fits the calculation of flow rate in bamboo drains. The experiment, conducted at laboratory, was done in a hydraulic bench for water flux studies, where a bunch of bamboo sticks of square section (20 x 20cm) was placed. Varying the slope from 1 to 10 m/1000m, the flow rate was obtained. By regression analysis (Excel 5.0), an equation was determined [Q(m3/s) = -3E-06S2(0/00) + 0.0002S(0/00) + 0.006 ; r2=0.999 ]. This equation constitutes the beginning of studies for bamboo drains, more efficient, for small farmers, due to their low cost.
