Résumé:
Untreated urban efluents exhibiting high total and fecal coliform
concentrations were used to irrigate lettuce by furrows, under four regimes of water
application. At the end of the experiment, some lettuce plants were analysed to identify the
existence of microorganisms that could restrict their fresh consumption. The results did not
reveal coliform contamination, but lettuce plants obtained at the local market did reveal
high coliform concentration.
