Abstract:
This monographic report presents a research study conducted in the context of basic education, addressing environmental education and sustainability. The theme of this work originates from sustainable practices lessons for fifth-grade students at the João Antônio de Souza Rural School, located in the municipality of Caraúbas, Paraíba, during the year 2024. The intention of this action is to highlight the importance that environmental education has for elementary school students and to improve the quality of learning through didactic resources. Thus, our research aimed to carry out a pedagogical intervention focused on environmental education and to produce and apply the word search resource as an activity that facilitates students' learning regarding environmental issues. To achieve these objectives, we adopted a qualitative methodological approach within the framework of participatory research. In the end, we found that the use of word searches in school activities was a positive reinforcement that contributed to the teaching-learning process of the students, also assisting in their motor and cognitive development, while connecting with the reality of the students.
