Abstract

The purpose of this paper was evaluate the volume of earth work using least squares method (Scaloppi & Willardson, 1986) and the nonlinear programming model modified from Hamad & Ali, 1990. The volume of cut produced by nonlinear programming model was 11,3% smaller than that one produced by least squares method.
