Résumé:
The use of innovative strategies that help in the dynamics of the teaching-learning process is
an increasingly recurring need for educational centers, which aim to offer a more integrative
and plural education to its students. From a playful perspective, for better knowledge retention
and cultural appreciation of the Caatinga fauna, the cordel emerges as a more pleasurable
interdisciplinary material in terms of content, working on skills such as writing, speaking,
creativity and personal-social performance, while promoting the demystification of popular
knowledge regarding local fauna. Given this context, the present work proposed itself as an
educational practice, using cordel literature as a didactic tool for teaching Zoology,
emphasizing the local animals of the Caatinga through an extension project entitled “Let's
biocordear: looks at cordel literature in Zoology teaching. The project lasted six months (June
2022 to December 2022) and was carried out at public school, located in the municipality of
Cuité-PB, with the participation of 90 students, students from 2nd years A, B, C and D of the
institution. Literary production workshops were held, with meetings related to writing,
drawing, exhibition, recitation and dynamics of the content covered, integrating them with the
use of cordel. As a result, a collective cordel was produced about the animals of the Caatinga,
where the students were able to prepare the stanzas according to the knowledge acquired during
the meetings.
