Abstract:
It was tried to find a mathematical model that would better describe the
relationship between discharge and pressure for the Katif emitters (3.75 l/h). It was
tested 25 mathematical models, by using the software CURVEFIT. The laboratory tests
were with 18 emitters, submitted to pressures varying from 30 to 360 kPa. The power
equation presented a very low correlation coefficient (0.232), while the Hoerl module
function was the one that showed to be most adequate. Analyzing five selected models, it
was verified that, in the design of lateral lines, there were no differences in the selection
of the commercial pipe diameters. However, in the estimation of applied water depth, the
power model generates errors up to 8%.
