Abstract

This study developed a methodology based on Green-Ampt equation which allows to optimize the performance of central-pivot irrigation systems. This optimization was attained by adjusting the permissible maximum precipitation rate to the total application depth. The developed methodology was applied to field data and the results showed that it is promising for real field situations.
