Résumé:
This study aims to analyze the environmental perception of students at Escola Cidadã
Integral e Técnica Estadual, Jornalista José Leal Ramos, located in São João do
Cariri/PB, based on various concepts of environmental education in basic education.
Society faces significant challenges due to the consequences of excessive
environmental exploitation. Therefore, environmental education initiatives are
necessary as they contribute promising results in fostering citizenship that is aware
and sensitive to socio-environmental issues. In this context, environmental perception
is understood as how humans perceive their surroundings. It is studied to understand
the relationship between humans and the environment, which is a crucial foundation
for developing studies that consider this relationship. The research involved students
from the 7th, 8th, and 9th grades, totaling 25 students. In addition to a bibliographic
survey of key concepts, the study employed the Systematic and Integrative
Bibliographic Review method. Data analysis was based on Laurence Bardin's content
analysis theory, with semi-structured interviews conducted to collect data. Two
interviews with a qualitative approach were applied to obtain the necessary information
for the study. The research also included a practical framework to address geography
and environmental education content, analyzing environmental perception before and
after these practices. Variations in students' environmental perception were observed
upon completion of the study. Additionally, the need to understand the environmental
perception of young students was noted, highlighting the urgency of a social and
behavioral shift in understanding the environment in the contemporary context.
