Résumé:
Using two linear programming models, based on the crop production
response to water availability, it was verified the effect of five water availability
conditions upon the irrigated areas optimization. It was studied a model with fixed water
depth and another with alternative depths. It was determined the optimal crop tillage
planning to be recommended for the Nilo Coelho Irrigation Project, in Petrolina-PE. For
both models, it was verified that the financial returns increase as the water availability
increases, but the increment in the income decrease. Independent on the model, the total
area cultivated increase with a higher water availability.
