Abstract

The aim of this work it was to estimate by simulations the probability of occurrence of consecutive days with mild wind speed for a site of State of Mato Grosso. Wind speed lower than 172 Km/day it was considered mild. The simulations were done using a computer program based on a Monte Carlo methodology. Overall, the probability of occurrence for long sequence of days were low, once the major frequencies were simulated for sequences lower than 4 days. The trimester from August to October was the one that presented the longer simulated sequences of consecutive days of mild wind speed, despite to the higher recurrence intervals for longer sequences.
