Abstract:
In order to evoluate the effect of sisal by-product and rice rind on soil
water availability were incorporated into one sand soil the quantities of 90 and 180g of
each source in two application methods: first method at 40% upper layer soil and the
second in a layer between 40 and 60% of the soil, using soybeen as plant text seven
months after residues application into soil. The data evidencied superiority of byproducy sisal in relation to rice rind on leaf area, dry matter production and total yield
soybeen-plant. There was no residues source characterized effect on water availability of
the soil to plants. The sisal residue was more rapidly mineralized when compared with
the rice rind.
