Resumen:
The present work aimed to evaluate the caupi bean cropping on wetland
soils in rotation with the irrigated rice and compare the effects of different systems of
irrigation and soil preparation on the element production and productivity of cultivated
fields. An experiment was carried out in december/95 to april/96, on the experimental
station of bom intento, Boa Vista-Roraima in geli slightly humid Tb alic, wetland soil..The
always green cultivar was tested under furrow and sprinkler irrigaton and two kind of soil
preparation systems, as follows: plough grid + leveller grid and plough grid + leveller grid
+ aiveca plough. The experiment design consisted of a split plot on a randomized blocks
design, with four repetitions. The number of bean stick per square meter , number of grains
per bean stick , the weight of a 100 grains and the productivity of grains. There weren’t any
differences, statistically significant on the production element and neither on the irrigated
caupi bean under the irrigation system and tested soil preparation, obtaining an average
yield of 1.554,31 kg of grains per acre.
