Résumé:
The 3-Reservoirs problem was solved using the Turbo Pascal language Version 6.0. This problem, better known as the “Bélanger’s problem” involves the determination of the unknown pressure head at the junction of the three reservoirs, the levels of which are previously known. The generalization of this problem facilitates obtaining the heads of whatever be the three water supply reservoirs, R1, R2 and R3 or that of the junction RJ, given information about the three other heads, the other data being the diameters of conduits, friction factors of tubes, and their respective lengths, which helps in knowing the head at the junction or that of the first, second or third reservoir, which is still to be designed, keeping in view the agricultural and domestic water supply needs. An illustrative example was given to demonstrate the eficacy of the program thus developed.
