Abstract:
The work carried out aims to help farmers on making decision of
expanding an irrigated area of conventional sprinkler, using the same pump power,
frequently over designed for tenant farmers. It was studied the possibilities of. expanding
the hydraulic network of a hand move system under specific conditions, common to São
Paulo city vicinity. It was combined the expansion alternatives: nozzle size, lateral
spacing and allowable pressure loss and working hours per day. The economical analisys
was run on EXCEL 5.0, spread sheet where it was verified that the expanded is be
obtained by increasing main or/and lateral line lengths. The cheapest option obtained,
increase the irrigated area by expanding the principal line length, the lateral spacing and
the working hours, while maintaining the same lateral length and not using pressure
regulators. Among.
