Variação nas características químicas de um latossolo vermelho escuro sob diferentes sistemas de preparo do solo e cultivo de milho.

Abstract

The effects of tillage systems on chemical characteristics of a Dark Red Latosol were studied in the experimental area of the Faculdade de Ciências Agrárias e Veterinárias de Jaboticabal, State of São Paulo, Brazil. The C organic, P,K,Ca and Mg contents were different statisticaly in the soil layers and showed no differences in samples positions, exceptions to P and K in the superficial layer. The organic C, Ca and Mg were affected by tillage systems in the 1992/93 agricultural season.. In the 1994/95 agricultural season the no-tillage treatment showed more Ca, P and Mg contents in the superficial layer. The temporal variation of those characteristics referend positively the adoption of conservationists systems of tillage .
