Resumo:
The traditional tillage practices using disk plough or disk harrows may improve the soil compactation. This is one of the most important problems in agriculture, reducing the crops yield and increasing the risks of soil erosion. Soil tillage using vertical tines is an alternative to the conventional method of loosing the soil and reducing the erosion. The aim of this work is to evaluate the performance of a chisel plough in area of heavy agricultural machinery trafic. The performance of the equipament was evaluated at differents dephts (15, 20, 25 and 30cm). The results show the higher values of soil disturbance at 20 and 25 cm, giving values of 76% and 77% respectively. The power required for each tine was 5,7 kW for 20 cm of depth and 6,8 kW for 25 cm.
