Resumen:
An optimized four-bar linkage is proposed to reduce soybean header losses. It consist of a
floating fork closely following the soil surface to lift and feed branches and pods to the flexible cutter bar. Soilfork interaction force was obtained from the linkage equation of motion and reduzed from 22,5 to 9,3 N using
linkage bar lengths and spring stiffness as design variables of the optimization process. Constraints included
upper and lower limits for bar lengths as well as angular positions and vertical range of motion of the lifting fork.
