Resumen:
A precision pneumatic metering and transport system for seeds was
developed. This system can be adapted for continuous flow. It includes a valve for
conversion of pressure to vacuum and a pneumatic metering system coupled to a seed
transport device to an outlet tube. The system was built to release the seed in at the same
speed but in opposite direction to seeder motion. This would allow precise on seed
meetering and ground deposition. Seed distribuition was assessed using optical sensors
by determining the time between released seeds. The system showed the capability to
capture and transport seeds with different characteristics, such as maize, soybeans and
wheat.
