Utilização do penetrômetro de cone na determinação do limite de liquidez em latossolos.

Abstract

The objective of this work was to determine the liquid limit in four Latossoils of Minas Gerais, using Cone Penetrometer and to compare this metodology with the standard metodology by Casagrande. The sample analized with the Cone Penetrometer were prepared for via moisture and done the test after calibration of apparatus. The results obtained by both methods did not present any significant difference, however they indicated that the use of the cone penetrometer has several advantages over the Casagrande apparatus: it’s a faster method, less analyst dependent and extremely practical.
