Abstract:
This research was carried out in order to study organic wastes from food
markets as a substrate for composting . It was also studied the caracteristcs of this waste
as animal food. The experiment was conducted at the Department of Rural Engineering -
Campus of Jaboticabal/UNESP. Data about chemical composition, the pile dimension
and the volume of leachate were collected. The main result was a 89,34% reduction of
the waste volume.
