Abstract

Soil occupation became a necessity from the moment that the human been left the nomad life style and fixed his habitat, producing his food and organizing himself in small villages. This work has as bigger target, to evaluate soil cover reduction by scrub in Botucatu county, SP, since 1962 until the actual days, utilizing for this, aerial pictures and satellite images. The results showed that there were a drastic reduction of that native vegetation on the considered period.
