Résumé:
This thesis addresses the importance of reading and writing in the formation of critical
and autonomous citizens, contextualizing the adversity in Portuguese language
proficiency in Brazil. Based on the extension project “Reading and Writing in School:
Innovative Language Practices,” the study proposes the implementation of a didactic
sequence focused on the textual genre of flash fiction, aiming to promote interactive
and meaningful practices in teaching. The objectives include recording and analyzing
pedagogical practices, exploring reading and writing as interactive processes,
investigating the adversity in reading education, and developing practical activities to
address them effectively. The theoretical framework explores the interaction between
reading, writing, and textual genres, supported by various authors, while the
methodology chapter adopts action research as the main approach, highlighting the
relevance of qualitative research. In the end, the project experiences are presented,
emphasizing the importance of practices that encourage a love for reading and textual
production. This work aims to contribute to quality linguistic education, promoting the
formation of competent readers and writers, which are essential for building a fairer
and more equitable society.
