Resumo:
This paper presents an analysis of the challenges faced by quilombola communities in implementing Quilombola School Education: a reality in the Gurugi and Ipiranga quilombo in the municipality of Conde-PB, with the aim of understanding the concept of Quilombola School Education held by teachers in the Gurugi and Ipiranga Quilombo. The research was carried out through interviews with four teachers from two municipal schools in the quilombola territory, allowing for an in-depth understanding. The main results indicate that Quilombola School Education is still a challenge to be faced, due to the lack of adequate training for teachers and the still traditional curriculum that often does not take into account the cultural and social specificities of quilombola communities. In addition, we observed that it is still an unknown modality, but that indirectly it is already partially worked on in the daily life of the two schools investigated, through some guarantees ensured by the school in its pedagogical political project and which dialog with the principles that the EEQ guidelines bring in their documents. The conclusions suggest that Quilombola School Education needs to be strengthened by consistent public policies, adequate teacher training, contextualized teaching materials, and greater community participation in defining the direction of education, contributing to further discussions about the training of quilombola or non-quilombola teachers and research on the subject within the academic field.
