Resumo:
In the initial years, geographic education plays a fundamental role in students' training.
During this phase, it is possible to encourage students' interest and attention,
developing perception and understanding of the importance of knowing their space. It
is pertinent to highlight that the study of geographic space has become increasingly
important in the student training process, as it enables the development of fundamental
skills for understanding and exercising citizenship. In this way, our research aims to
report the experience of carrying out a pedagogical intervention with the theme of the
construction of geographic space, using the methodology of producing drawings with
5th year students from the initial series of Escola Maria de Lourdes Nunes de Meneses
in the municipality of Prata-PB. In the methodological paths, the assumption of
qualitative research was used within the scope of participant research, with a
pedagogical intervention on the theme of geographic space and the production of
drawings made by students. We found that the production of drawings provided good
interaction between research collaborators, as they were produced individually and
each student developed them according to their daily lives. Also, the contextualized
action, associated with an active methodology, gave the students an enriching
experience, which helped to build knowledge and geographical development.
