Résumé:
The research deals with the importance of contextualization for living with the Semiarid region
in a rural school. To understand the theme, we seek answers to the following central questions:
how does the contextualization of practices for coexistence with the Semiarid occur? How
important are contextualized practices, in the perception of students in the 5th year of
Elementary School, participating in work with the caatinga project? The general objective of
the investigation was to understand how the contextualization of content occurs from the
perspective of coexistence in the Semiarid region and its importance, with a view to promoting student involvement with the topic, followed by the specific objectives: (I) identify experiences with contextualized practices; (II) analyze the importance, in the students' perception, of practices contextualized from the caatinga project. The study was carried out with the participation of students in the 5th year of Elementary School and the class teacher who works
at a rural school in the municipality of Monteiro-PB, Semiarid territory, Cariri, Paraíba. The
data was produced from recording the experience throughout the thematic project. The results
indicate that students are interested in learning about policies to encourage coexistence with the
Semiarid region, as well as recognizing and valuing the exuberant beauty of the territory. The
study opens up possibilities for contextualized practices on the caatinga biome and highlights
the importance of intensifying the debate on coexistence with the Semi-Arid region in rural
schools.
