In a study of load flow, stability, short-circuit, and other applications of power systems, it is necessary to solve problems that involve solutions of systems of linear equations, which are usually sparse, using computational methods. The method of triangulation / composition of Gauss,
when used in the solution of systems of sparse linear equations, generates nonzero elements in positions previously occupied by zero. To order a system of linear equations is to establish an order that is followed by the decomposition / triangulation of
variables, meet pre-set goals. For applications in power systems, ordering schemes were proposed by Tinney | 4 | and Sasson | 5 |.
