Resumo:
The present work aims to present a method for determining the propagation characteristics of a rectangular guide symmetrically loaded with a slice of imperfect dielectric material, located parallel to the electric field. Aiming to research for future applications in industrial microwave heating, the following characteristics were studied for TEno, n modes:
- Characteristic equations and fields - Attenuation constant and insertion losses
- Real and imaginary parts of dielectric constant and experimental methods of measurement
- Characteristic impedance of dielectric and marriage using impedance transformers - Comparison of theoretical and experimental results. This information will enable the determination of the complex dielectric constant of a number of dielectrics with high losses. On the other hand, knowledge of dielectric constant and insertion losses will be a great help in the research and design of microwave equipment for heating purposes.
