Resumo:
This dissertation presents a method for the calculation of slope stability of small earth dams when subjected to abundant and long lasting rains. The work basically consists in using the results obtained by a program of calculation of flow in porous medium, simulating the rainfall conditions on the dam mass, as input data of a multi - program of calculation of slope stability analyzes. A description of the "FPM-500" porous media flow program and SLOPE II slope stability program, both now implanted in the Data Processing Center of the Science and Technology Center of the Federal University of Paraíba (NPD-CCT-UFPb) and presented to show the different steps of calculations performed during the obtaining of the safety coefficient of small earth dam under the conditions of full operation (water depth in the project quota) in the absence and presence in
From the results obtained for the two previous conditions, it will be possible to evaluate the influence of rains on the stability of small earth dams.
