Résumé:
This research presents an alternative of modeling and optimizing of the placement of
reservoirs units of an Urban Water Supply Systems (UWSS). These systems are studied
under the perspective of the decision making support for planning of these systems.
Studies in Hydraulic Engineering allied with Geographical Information Systems (GIS)
can produce models that improve and optimize diverse aspects related with the water
supply in urban areas. The focus is the advances and techniques found in the GIS and the
possibility to use it as Spatial Decision Support System (SDSS). This research presents a
new methodology for decision making in a planning of UWSS exploring the GIS spatial
analysis tools. Using multi evaluation decision, it is produced unsupplied risks maps for
urban parcels that can indicate some planning and management actions. It is mapped
some zones considered as “the best choice” for locate new reservoirs units, which can
support guidelines in the planning for expansion of system.
