Resumen:
With the decay of small-scale, farm production in Rio Grande do Sul, principly during the 50s and 60s, the farm workers have organized themselves into various agricultural moviments demanding land reform in southern Brazil, the moviment reappear with powerful in the late 70s, with the organization of the Class Action of Landless Rural Workers (MST). Following repeated success, goinned of an with firm action such as the occupation of land, the MST promote the discussion on alternative forms of production for
small land-holders, with collective experience. The Small Farmers of Nova Ramda Cooperative (COOPANOR) is one of the best experience from the collective form of production . This, studying the experience of the Nova Ramada Land Reform Moviment, by comparing the quality of life experienced by the areas farmers before and after
the establishment of the settlement. A comparison in also made between the cooperative-member producers and private producers as to production levels an quality-of-life experienced by both groups following the establishment of the small-farmer settlement.
