Resumen:
This study examines the intersection between soccer and racism in Brazil, exploring
how the sport reflects historical racial inequalities and perpetuates manifestations of
racism, even with the success of Black athletes. The objective is to analyze how
social media, between 2018 and 2024, has been used to combat racism in South
American soccer, particularly in exposing discriminatory practices involving clubs and
fans, while also examining the social role of clubs in promoting racial equality. The
research adopts a qualitative and bibliographic approach, using primary data, news,
social media content, and anti-racist campaigns conducted by clubs, fans, and
soccer institutions. Social media emerges as a space for resistance and mobilization,
providing visibility to cases of racism that often go unnoticed in traditional sports
broadcasts. The study also highlights the progress and challenges in addressing
racism in soccer, emphasizing its importance as a platform for the fight for racial
justice and social inclusion in Brazil.
