Resumen:
The remote sensing has become an increasingly viable alternative for the study and
monitoring of natural resources in countries with large dimensions, like Brazil. Parameters
such as albedo, vegetation indices, surface temperature, net radiation and the situation of
water resources, which are considered important variables for understanding and monitoring
of natural resources, can be obtained through the techniques and the products from remote
sensing available so far. Among these parameters, the temperature of the earth's surface has
been highlighted, because its decisive action on the growth and development of plants,
influencing many physical, chemical and biological processes, showing a great scientific
relevance in a wide range of research activities and natural resources management. In this
context, this work presents a methodology for determining the temperature of surface and for
estimating the radiation balance and energy to one of the basins of the state of Paraíba, in
different periods of time. The same methodology was used to analyze variations in surface
temperature in some urban centers of the state.
