Resumo:
This paper presents a study on the evaluation of the User Experience in the interaction
with the Runway video editing platform that uses tools based on Artificial Intelligence
(AI). The evaluation was conducted in a comparative manner with a similar software,
namely, Adobe After Effects, with a view to suggesting recommendations for
improvements in the Runway platform, based on the following instruments and
techniques: Usability Test, User Experience Questionnaire (UEQ) and Focus Group.
The research also involved a sample of fourteen users with prior knowledge about
video editing. Initially, the Usability Test was conducted individually, to promote
interaction with the software through the execution of five low-complexity tasks. After
the test, the User Experience Questionnaire (UEQ) was immediately administered to
each participant. Finally, the Focus Group technique was applied in order to obtain
feedback on the quality of the interaction from the perspective of the User Experience.
The results indicate that, although Runway was positively evaluated compared to
Adobe After Effects, the platform presented a steeper learning curve with a greater
number of errors made at the beginning of the interaction and usability problems
regarding the interface, including the recording of 30 errors made and the frequent
need to consult the help desk, in addition to execution times exceeding 500 seconds
in the first task of the usability test, indicating difficulties and challenges to be overcome
in the interaction with Runway – especially in the creation of projects, importing files
and navigation between the interface screens. Therefore, it is concluded that the
Runway platform requires interventions involving issues of complete review of the
layout, optimization of navigation in the software and improvements in the
responsiveness of the interface, in addition to aspects related to file storage and
processing, in order to provide a more simplified, efficient and accessible User
Experience for more or less experienced users.
