Resumen:
The goal of this work in to establish the minimum number of fruits of tomato to be
evaluated taking in to account repeatability estimates of a clean tomatoes process in a packing line
located at Monte Mor, São Paulo state. The equipment used to measure the efficient of the cleaning
process was developed at FEAGRI/UNICAMP, which is composed of a ring evolved with white
cloth. Samples were taken before and after the cleaning step and evaluated using a colorimeter
HUNTER Lab, in the CIELAB (L, a, b) scale. The experimental results showed that it is necessary
to evaluated around 10 to 15 fruits in order to obtain a good representation of the data.
