This monographic report presents research carried out in the area of Geography teaching and its relationship with Contextualized Education, which was developed within the scope of the actions of the Geography and Rural Education Teaching Laboratory-LEGECAMPO through the activities of the extension project “A Produção of Teaching Resources in Teaching Geography for Rural Schools''. When planning extension activities, we discussed the lack of teaching resources in Geography teaching, specifically on the Brazilian Semiarid territory. This lack of teaching resources gave rise to concerns regarding the need to build teaching resources with an emphasis on the Brazilian Semiarid region. In this way, our research aimed to build a teaching resource “puzzle map of the Brazilian Semiarid territory” and report the experience of its application at the U.M.E.I.E.F School. Jose Bonifácio Barbosa de Andrade (Escola PIO X), located in the municipality of Sumé-PB. To achieve our purpose, we used the qualitative research approach in the methodological process, participatory research to be more precise. In the end, we found that the application of the teaching resource in the classroom helped in the development of cognitive skills such as logical reasoning, concentration, visual perception and even motor coordination, in addition to being a fun way to both teach and understand students. , increasing the potential of teaching and learning, promoting teamwork, bringing better performance and engagement of the class in relation to Geography teaching.
